America The Beautiful Part 2:

October 12, 2008 · 4 Comments

This is just ridiculous.

Let me clear here when I say that I do not blame Republicans for this behavior because these people aren’t Republicans.  They’re scared and small minded Americans who have decided that they idea of diversity and and society where the apparent power structure is no longer controlled by someone that looks like them is a proposition that they can’t accept.  This isn’t about politics, government, or policy… its about identity and hate and McCain/Palin rallys have become their outlet.

But it only works if you really believe it…

You see, Klansmen wore hoods for a reason… shame.

If you are a McCain supporter, please tell me why something like this is acceptable behavior.

I Really Think They’re Throwing This Thing…

October 12, 2008 · 2 Comments

Seriously, I think the Republicans know that this year is just a straight up L and they figured out months ago that they can’t win so now they’re just trying to make the damage as fantastic as possible.

Exhibit A:  Sarah Palin drops the first puck at the Philadelphia Flyers game.

Now, I’m no political strategist or pundit or anything like that.  But I am a sports fan, and as a sports fan I know Philadelphia fans love to boo.  These people booed Santa Claus, they Booed Beyonce, and I’m sure if Ben Franklin was to somehow reanimate himself and make an appearance at an Eagles/Flyers/Phillies/Sixers game he’d get booed too.  So when someone came to the folks at the McCain campaign and asked them if they wanted to put Sarah Palin in front of a few thousand rabid Philadephia sports fans (not a campaign rally or a controlled environment), someone should have known better and spoken up.  So here’s Sarah Palin, hockey mom, in front of Philadelphia hockey fans and it doesn’t take much of a genius to figure out what happens next.

But again, I think they’re tanking this thing on purpose, so its not like I’m stunned by this.

2:19am edit:

Also note that this event took place at the Wachovia Center where the Flyers play.  I mean, that’s all around bad product placement.
